Description
The plate shows an officer, the heir to all those – British and Indian – shown in the preceding plates. He is wearing an order of dress worn for some ceremonial parades and duties in barracks. There are few regimental distinctions left to him; even his red collar, alas, has gone. However, he still serves his guns with the same tenacity as his forebears and continues to add new honours to the impressive list of those won in the last two hundred and fifty years.
