Description

2-4-0 Engine No. 1463 built at Darlington Works in 1885. Now the property of the National Railway Museum, York, whilst on loan to the Darlington Railway Museum in Durham. The class was designed in 1884 by a locomotive committee, chaired by Henry Tennant, but it is likely the design was largely the work of Wilson Worsdell.
