    William de la Pole, 1st Duke of Suffolk, KG, nicknamed Jackanapes, was an English magnate, statesman and military commander. He dominated the government of the weak King Henry VIHe was held responsible for England’s defeats in the late stages of the Hundred Years’ War against France.

    Richard Wydeville, Earl Rivers, KG, 1405-1469

    Woodville also spelled Wydeville was father-in-law of the Yorkist king Edward IV. Nobles opposed to Rivers initiated the uprising that temporarily drove Edward into exile in 1470.  He fought with distinction jn the last two decades of the Hundred Years’ War  and  married the wealthy Jacquetta of Luxembourg, Duchess of Bedford
