1939 Officer, Royal Artillery
1939 Officer, Royal Artillery: drawn from items of dress in the Royal Artillery Museum, Larkhill, Wiltshire and Dress regulations
This is the last full dress worn by officers of the regiment, other than the Royal Horse Artillery. This dress was re-introduced for officers after the First World War, to be worn at levees and similar occasions. The busby replaced the ball-topped helmet in 1926, reverting to the before 1878. The Royal Artillery busby differs from the Royal Horse Artillery type in having no cap lines. Sources: Items of dress in the R.A. Museum and Dress Regulations.
